Canada Confirms Case of Mad Cow Disease

Canada confirmed Sunday that a second case of mad cow disease has been discovered, just days after the United States said it planned to reopen its border to Canadian beef.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Sunday an older dairy cow from Alberta tested positive for bovine spongiform encephalopathy, otherwise known as mad cow disease.

The preliminary testing results were completed on Wednesday and released early Thursday morning.
