HIV+ Children Used As Experimental Conduits For AIDS Medications
Who would stick a needle full of vomit-inducing experimental drugs in an HIV positive Hispanic baby? According to the BBC, a rogue drug testing program run by New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services and backed by Glaxo SmithKline.
In a program recently broadcast, the BBC alleges NYC’s ACS has been conducting experiments on poor HIV positive children not just without their guardians’ consent, but sometimes taking the children away from their guardians when they fought the experiments.
Also mixed up in the scandal is the Catholic Church, as many of those children allegedly used in the experiments are otherwise guardianless orphans at the church-run Incarnation Children’s Center.
Alliance for Human Research Protection has followed this story for some time, yet little action has been taken in the ten months since the story first broke - news in and of itself.
