J&J recalls drug after glass found in bottle
A Johnson & Johnson unit said on Tuesday it is recalling liquid versions of a prescription medicine used to treat ringworm and other fungal infections after two reports of glass fragments found in bottles.
Ortho Dermatological, a division of Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, is conducting the recall of griseofulvin oral suspension, or Grifulvin V, in cooperation with U.S. regulators and is sending recall letters to wholesalers and pharmacies nationwide.
It said the glass fragments were believed to have resulted from bottle breakage during shipping and handling. There have been no reports of adverse events from the fragments, the company said.
