Newport News Foundation Helps With Medical Costs
A Newport News nonprofit group is helping patients with macular degeneration to pay their medical bills.
The Patient Advocate Foundation is offering up to 2,500 dollars a year toward out-of-pocket expenses for people onMedicare, Medicaid or private insurance.
Macular degeneration is the most common eye disease in people 60 and older and affects up to two million people in the United States.
The Patient Advocate Foundation also has programs to help people with breast, lung or prostate cancer.
