Showing off best of Health

The NHS is showcasing the best of its work this week.

The Trent region’s Building on Success event will highlight initiatives that have improved patient care, speeded up services and saved money.

NHS chief executive Sir Nigel Crisp will be at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham to see presentations of work by staff from all NHS Trusts across Notts, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, including those working for hospitals, primary care trusts, mental health trusts and ambulance trusts.

On Wednesday, members of the public and health workers are invited to ‘drop-in’ between 4.30pm and 8pm to view displays.

In addition, a shortlist for the NHS awards will be announced.

Kaye Burnett, a non-executive director of Trent SHA, said: “There are so many innovations across the NHS in Trent - all focused on improving patient care.

“Members of the public and staff will have the opportunity to learn about some of the changes which are having a significant impact on transforming healthcare for patients, service users and carers and to network with those staff who are making things happen.”
