Dermatological Adverse effects
The cases, published until now were almost fifty ;whereas, only nine known cases of progesterone- induced anaphylaxis are reported until 2003(26). The diagnosis may be confirmed by performing a skin and/or intramuscular allergen test, using progesterone (29). These cases were successfully treated with conjugated estrogen, antiestrogen tamoxifen, danazol, gonadotropin releasing hormone analogs or oophorectomy. Allergic contact dermatitis from contraceptive patch(estradiol and norethisterone acetate) and local and systemic contact dermatitis from estradiol had also been reported (30,31).
